My camera and I love this family. I’ve filmed and photographed them twice a year for eight years. They feel like family. When I launched family films, this mama was the first to leap. During our photo sessions prior to films, she was always commenting on her kids’ laughter, voices, movement, and personalities. Her heart clings to those fleeting characteristics…not just the way they look. Those comments stuck with me and deepened my desire to document the same things about my girls. In some ways, this mama may be the reason I make films today. 

There’s such beauty in the way this truly special family is raising their children. They embrace nature, experience, and all the senses, making for two curious and creative kids my camera loves to document. Here are a few photos from their most recent session…excited to start on their film soon!
