My Passion Projects | Boston Photography + Film Sessions for Grieving Families

As a physical therapist treating spinal cord injured patients, my heart was furrowed for story and strengthened to walk alongside families facing their biggest fears, deepest grief, and greatest challenge. In all the years since swapping out scrubs for a camera, I’ve felt a gentle calling on my life to tell the unseen/unheard stories of families facing THEIR greatest challenge. I’ve donated my photography at Boston Children’s Hospital, for The Gold Hope Project, and taken on passion projects. Most of this work I seek out and give away. Why? Because it has shaped me and my he(art) more than any conference or workshop. I also feel compelled to celebrate love across the full spectrum of life.

As I’ve asked myself what imprint I want to leave on my industry, the answers have grown louder and louder:

I want to document the light above the clouds for families enduring a terminal illness, rare disease, or disability.

I want to bottle up the touch, voice, laughter, and personality of loved ones whose legacy will outlive them.

I want to capture the strength and courage of families bearing up under the pressures and demands of a disability.

I want to hunt for light in the darkness and beauty in the shadows.

I want to create photos and films that provide hope and healing.

If you know of a family in the Boston area facing unique challenges (a disability, a chronic/terminal illness, or a rare disease) will you mention me to them? I’ve blocked my calendar for 2–3 of these passion projects this year and am eager to donate my time and talent. Please encourage your loved ones to reach out to me via the Contact Me page on my website.
