Extended Family Photo Session + Mini Film | Lexington Family Photographer & Videographer

I have a confession. Until Covid I didn’t really love extended family sessions. Always craving connection for my clients, I felt overwhelmed by the number of possible combinations. There never seemed enough time to allow family members to press into their time together and I routinely turned these sessions down.

Then Covid. The risk to the older generations stripped me of all that and woke me up to the importance of documenting our loved ones for our children.

Where I saw hurdles, I now see opportunity and loved the chance I was gifted to capture the bond these wonderful grandparents have with their family. I often ask grownups to speak words of affirmation to the children (it cracks kids wide open for the camera). I didn’t expect to make this grandma cry with the prompt, but her love just overflowed as she spoke over her grandkids. I cried a little too and was reminded what treasures we have in the older generations. I want to honor their legacy in every way possible!
