Throwback to this past fall and a fun and foliage-filled session with a family I first filmed years ago. I adore this mama. She shows up fully present, playful, and intent on capturing her kids just as they are…never worrying about the things that don’t matter.
As I edited this film for her, I was reminded of matching footage from their first film. I always describe editing a film like putting together a puzzle without a box top…you never know what it’s going to look like…until suddenly you do. Inspiration is a funny thing. There are many ways to foster it and no way to force it. But when it strikes…it’s the BEST feeling in the world.
These small editing choices aren’t intended to wow and probably don’t stand out to the casual viewer…but they matter to the mama who feels the press of time.
