This little fella fills my heart every single year with his joy, curiosity, and fearless sense of adventure. His highly intelligent mind is a thing of wonder. I love the way he deep-dives into subjects (currently trains) with such focus and delight. I’m inspired watching his amazing parents fan those sparks, encouraging his passions and letting him explore them fully. He’s a true page-turner, and I feel incredibly blessed to be invited to tell one small page of his story each year.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about child-like curiosity, and I’m convinced it’s better than all the collagen and creams combined when it comes to staying young at heart. Curiosity keeps us open, playful…alive. In the last few years, I’ve discovered pickleball—and I’m completely smitten. I play twice a week and look forward as much to the smiles and laughter shared with friends on the court as I do the game itself.
This quieter season, with fewer shoots but plenty of editing, has also nudged me to try something new. With encouragement from friends, I’ve picked up watercolor and embroidery this month. Both have been surprisingly grounding, lighting up creative neurons and reminding me how good it feels to be a beginner again.
So now I’m curious…what new hobbies or interests are calling your name lately?
