This summer I received an invite to join this awesome family at their summer home toward the Cape and document with video a day in their life. I loved reading the mom’s responses to my film questionnaire before our session. Her heart clings to so many sweet details about her kids in this season…one daughter’s “crazy beach hair”, another’s “pretty dark blue eyes” and her son’s voice. They fed the chickens, watered the garden, kayaked, dug up clams, had a family jump on the trampoline, hit the beach and by the end of our day together I had a taste of the beautiful life they truly enjoy together.

I’m so excited to see clients embracing family films as another way of documenting their days. It’s a growing niche among family photographers and a skill I’m having SUCH fun honing. This video even included a little practice for me with slow motion and speed ramping!

I hope that every family film is a keepsake that will return families to a specific time and place in their lives. I feel so blessed to have been permitted a backstage pass to the way this family lives and loves.
