As we walked into the library this morning I said half to myself “I love the smell of books” when Cora replied, “You’re silly, Mom.” It’s true. In a library or bookstore I often close my eyes and breath it in. Growing up, my parent’s motto was that they would buy me what I needed, but I had to buy what I wanted…except when it came to books. On family trips to the mall, forget shopping…you could find me hiding out in the bookstore with dad. This was strategic, of course, and resulted in a library of classics I cherish and can’t wait to share with our girls. Call me silly, Cora, but there are worlds of wonder between those pages!
“I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I’ve never been able to believe it. I don’t believe a rose WOULD be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage.”
LM Montgomery – Anne of Green Gables
I love this image of that sweet hand and all it represents to me.
I’m such a sucker for lashes.
“Get off that floor, sweet girl, it’s filthy!” – “No wait! mamma loves those catchlights”
(But for one) only the BEST book ever written!
She chose it…don’t judge.
Let’s get the “heck-out” of here.
