King and Queen Tea

Brenna has loved studying about royalty in Kindergarten…and what five year old girl wouldn’t?! To end the section, her teachers planned a royal tea complete with a parent King and Queen. As the kids entered, they were introduced in pairs to the King and Queen, greeting them with proper decorum. Tea was next, authenticated by tea, scones and crumpets. Next came the ball where my daughter’s heart was crushed by an unwilling boy partner. Thankfully I spotted her likewise tearful chum across the ballroom and quickly paired them up thus happiness reigned in the kingdom once more. After decorating crowns and having a royal reading the parents were dismissed.

We’ve since had a throne installed in our living room. Brenna and Cora alternate playing the roles of Queen and Princess. Dave has been dubbed King and I am relegated to a servant. Something tells me it’s time to delegate a few more chores around here or we won’t be living happily ever after.
