My dad loves to fish. Though fly fishing is his first affection, any kind will do and today our girls “spoke” his love language. Sadly, the lake was teaming with turtles not fish. Rather than casting out and patiently waiting for a fish to bite, it became a game of keep away from turtles chasing the corn as bait on the girl’s lures.
I savored hearing the girl’s laughter ring across the lake as their little hands reeled in the line as fast as they could go. Even more, I savored watching the connections forged deeper still between two generations of people I love.
